Four months ago, we posted a link to a blog where my co-worker, Gordon, detailed the journey of their twin girls, Katelynn and Daria, who were born a few months premature and had many complications. So many of you, like me, got drawn in by Gordon’s writing style, which shared every detail and also included his deep sense of spirituality and faith. (to put a little perspective on it – Ranchojack just hit 2,000 hits….Gordon quietly states in a recent post that his site had 10,000 hits).
So many of you have asked me about how the Owyang’s are doing, and I am so happy to report that they brought the girls HOME this week! You can read about it (and see some photos
HERE) – and I know I will continue to keep their family in my thoughts and prayers. This past year has really proven a few key things to me:
- God doesn’t give you anything more than you can handle
- In trying times, you can surprise yourself by what you are able to overcome – and those around you who rise to the occasion when you need it most truly are a blessing.
David and I continue to feel so lucky and blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives / Jack’s life – you all know who you are and we love you dearly!
On one final note (since I am in this state of mind – might as well ride it out!) – today, May 20, is a special day for several reasons:
- it was Jack’s due date
- it is my friend Erika’s due date (although she only has a few more hours to go before Baby Boy Antonucci is “late” – which is a riot considering that Erika is the biggest “planner” I know! And btw her sister Lindsay is in labor as I write this.)
- My Grandma Scelsi would have been 100 years old today – Happy Birthday Grandma – I know you are with us always!
Take care!
Vicki
